本周继Naomi & Goro之后又一强烈推荐!
这个看起来有点憨厚的小伙子相当棒!
我几乎拿他和我最爱之一的Musiq Soulchild比较
他和Musiq一样都是Neo-Soul音乐,可是他却更多的带有R&B的风格在里面
(或者反过来讲... = =)
但这黑人音乐股子十分的Black,还尝试了一些Jazz
这些风格组合起来对于我来说真是太棒了
并且他的音乐和声音都很棒,很Smooth
不知道怎么形容了,总之一句话,喜欢Musiq的话一定要听听Dwele!
Dwele还有一些单曲和在Jazz Cafe London的Live CD

One-man show Dwele’s debut, Subject, comes correct with neo-soul staples in place. That is to say, there are enough acoustic guitars, stacked harmony vocals, mid-tempo grooves, and sound effects of scratchy vinyl to power an old-school symposium. What the Detroit-bred associate of backpack-rappers Slum Village lacks in depth, he makes up for in sheer summer-ready listenability. Dwele’s genre could be called neo-neo-soul; he seems to owe as much to the foundations laid down by D’Angelo as to obvious idol Stevie Wonder. While lacking the idiosyncrasies of those artists, Dwele manages to slide out of the speakers with enough skills to convince a casual listener to let the languid mood take over. Subject’s title track is its most fully imagined; the needle-on-record gambit that obscures its likable chorus could actually be heard as a conceptual gambit rather than a mere irritation. Elsewhere, Dwele piles on the quiet-storm stuff so masterfully that he sows confusion, while at least seemingly hoping to settle down with one conquest. Vision is hardly up to talent here, but for now, Dwele gets a pass on winning sonics alone. --Rickey Wright

《FutureSex/LoveSounds》全辑共有12首正式曲目，专辑名称看起来有点复杂和令人迷惑，或许把它切割为“Future Sound”和“Sex/Love”更容易理解。“Future Sound”代表其中音乐的形式，但却不可以单纯地看为“前卫的风格”，其实在曲风上，《Sexy Ladies》、《My Love》等多首曲目都是有点复古的Funk舞曲曲风(因为Michael Jackson和Prince对Justin的音乐实在有着深远影响)，而在这个骨架上Justin和老搭档Timbaland、制作人Rick Rubin等人再为它们罩上一层电子音效的外衣，营造出酷炫的未来感，甚至连Justin的声音也被扭曲至产生空间疏离感，加重的低音节拍和 Bassline更增加了迷幻的成分，相信这张唱片很快就会攻陷全球的舞池。“Sex/Love”代表专辑中歌词的内容，这一永恒的主题应该不难理解，形式可以决定内容，在流行舞曲的形式下我们不能期望它会有太深层次的含义，而且Justin Timberlake一向是“Sex/Love”的象征，他对诠释这方面的内容最拿手。除了舞曲外，专辑在最后还收录了几首R&B慢歌如《Until The End Of Time》、《Losing My Way》等以照顾Justin的老歌迷，不过Justin的声音听起来没有以前漂亮，似乎是因为去年动过声带手术的关系。单飞后的Justin Timberlake在音乐上一直彰显著自己的个性和野心，《FutureSex/LoveSounds》或许还不是他个人最想要的音乐，但至少对比 Beyonce等人专辑获得的评价，这张唱片算是不负众望！

Here's something you didn't know about Van Hunt: Randy Jackson is his manager. Which says a lot about the "American Idol" judge's prime-time panning of pitchy would-be Stevie Wonders-- mainly, that he knows what he's talking about. If there is still a neo-soul show to be stolen, Van Hunt, for sure, has made off with it: This sophomore effort, with well-spaced nods to Prince, Curtis Mayfield, and the Isley Brothers, is way weightier than anything Maxwell or D'Angelo ever attempted and every bit as stylish… maybe more so. But what's most surprising is the disc's depth. Van Hunt knows his way around a smooth seduction--look no further than track two, "If I Take You Home (Upon ...)," which earns an A in that category--but he also has a little something to contribute to the modern rock conversation (the Kravitz-esque "Ride, Ride, Ride"), and he won't duck associations with disco ("The Thrill of This Love"), either. Even '80s-revivalism, as demonstrated here by "At the End of a Slow Dance," doesn't prove too great a challenge. Tie it all up with a bow (or, this being Van Hunt, maybe an ascot) and you still get a solidly singular vision.
